The Oklahoma Insurance Department (OID) has been receiving a number of consumer complaints in recent years, relating to roofing contractors that advertise to be "Claims Specialists" and participate in the claim process.  Under such circumstances, these persons are acting as unlicensed public adjusters, which is a violation of State law.  As a result, the OID issued a Bulletin dated May 27, 2010 stating their concerns and requesting that insurance companies watch out for and report possible violations to the Department.  To see the entire Bulletin, please refer to the link below:
